The date and location have been set for the WICA-WSC Labor/Management Meeting.  The meeting will be April 17, 2012 at the Arizona Grand Resort from 12:00p.m. to 4:00p.m.  A group dinner will be held on the evening of April 17th with a.m. tee times available on April 18th to those who are interested in playing golf.  If you are interested in playing golf that morning, please contact Bob Bergman.

A subcommittee of both organizations met on January 5th in Seattle to negotiate terms on a special IMMRA to be used across the Western States. Early attempts to negotiate a complete agreement with wages and conditions stalled and it now appears that a basic framework will be agreed to with wages, overtime, and crew mix negotiated on a local level with the business manager of the facilities jurisdiction. The "elephant" in the room is still portability and overtime but WICA remains optimistic that a workable solution can be achieved. The WSC is presently working with each local union to establish a targeted rate by local union. The WSC's goal is to have something in place by our Spring Labor-Management meeting which will be held April 17th. A working draft of the IMMRA is posted in the members only section of the WICA website along with a list of facilities the WSC has identified as prime targets.  

One of the unique benefits to being a member of the Western Insulation Contractors Association is access to the “Members Only” section of the WICA website.  In this section you will find the WICA Industry Hours by Local Union 1996-2010, the 2012 Wage and Benefit Survey, the Construction Labor Research Council 2011 Settlements, and the Collective Bargaining Agreements for the different Western States locals.  These tools can be useful in comparing one local to another and in preparing for negotiations.  For your convenience the “Members Only” section has recently been fully updated and can be utilized by logging into the WICA website with your assigned username and password and then visiting the “Members Only” page under the “Membership” tab.  If you need to have your username and/or password to the WICA website reset in order to access the section you can contact Danielle or Sarah at the WICA office at 801.364.0050, or email danielle@wica1.com.
